Calling all book lovers! & Dec. support

Calling all book lovers! There’s a book group forming within our community to start Jan/late Feb. The title is Fully Fertile: A Holistic 12-Week Plan for Optimal Fertility.

I’m excited that Felicia (the hostess with the mostest of our recent holiday party!) is interested in organizing this. The book is a rarity.  How?  Well, in 2014 and 2015, before we resurrected Resolve’s presence in Seattle, I led two rounds of the book program while pursuing treatment. All 12 women in the groups unanimously adored the book… that’s unusual in a book club! I know it will be tremendously helpful and supportive to many of you on this journey. We thought we’d post the book so people can look into it / read during holiday travels and down time. More details will be announced in the New Year.

A couple announcements about December support:

Tuesday, Dec. 13, 6:30-8:30 pm – Transitioning into a RESOLVE support group by early 2017, St. Stephens Episcopal Church will host its regular support group for the fertility journey next Tuesday. I was on the phone today with their current priest-in-charge, Danae Ashley, and facilitator Keltie Wright. Their group has been in transition with lots of graduating members (the founding group was primarily members dealing with recurrent pregnancy loss) so they were open to discussion about the future of their group. To drive attendance to their space for support, they have agreed to become part of the RESOLVE community. Things are in motion and in the next month or so, they should officially be an additional RESOLVE Seattle group for general infertility support.

You are welcome to go to both Seattle meetings each month (they meet the 2nd Tuesday at St. Stephens; we meet the 4th Wednesday at Greenwood Library), or choose one group that suits you and the schedule best, etc. Our Greenwood meetings have been very large lately (nearly 30 at the last two meetings) so we thought it would be good for people to have options. Seattle is a big city, right? It would actually be great to have many groups! St. Stephens is in Laurelhurst. The RESOLVE groups have different leaders and programs, but we will collaborate as a regional team on some things.

Wednesday, Dec. 28, 6:00-7:45 pm – Grace Uomoto will host our December meeting at the Greenwood Library. (Both Annies will be out of state for the holidays.) You are in amazing hands with Grace. She has been an apprentice host with us and is a nurse and fertility & reproductive health consultant in South Seattle. The journaling exercise and vision board activity is still the plan. We’ll be thinking about everyone.

Looking ahead to January…

The meetup at Flatstick Pub (Pioneer Square) is postponed to Jan. 14, 8:30 – 10:30 pm.

Ladies’ Night at Paint the Town will be Jan. 14, before Flatstick Pub, 6:00 – 7:45 pm. Please RSVP to ResolveSeattle@gmail.com.

Lynn Jensen, fertility yoga instructor, will visit us at our Jan. 25 meeting in Greenwood.

January will be our last meeting at Greenwood Library for a few months while renovations are going on. In February we will start meeting at Greenwood Masonic Center until May. Check the Meeting Schedule for locations.
